UK based fresh air Power has voiced an understanding with Volvo to development and incorporate their Dual-Fuel technology into Volvo van engines. Dual-Fuel is a patent-protected system which will enable heavy duty diesel engines to run on up to 90 % natural gas with a tiny quantity of diesel fuel providing the ignition source. The advantages are lower fuel costs and lower emission.
The aim of the accord is that the ensuing products will be marketed and supported by Volvo Vans. The products will have the fresh air Power technology entirely interfaced with the Volvo engine management system and may be applied to Volvo’s D13 engine. Unpolluted air Power and Volvo engineers will work in partnership to develop the products and the accord makes provision for unpolluted air Power to get money from Volvo in the project.
