UK based fresh air Power has voiced an understanding with Volvo to development and incorporate their Dual-Fuel technology into Volvo van engines. Dual-Fuel is a patent-protected system which will enable heavy duty diesel engines to run on up to 90 % natural gas with a tiny quantity of diesel fuel providing the ignition source. The advantages are lower fuel costs and lower emission.
The aim of the accord is that the ensuing products will be marketed and supported by Volvo Vans. The products will have the fresh air Power technology entirely interfaced with the Volvo engine management system and may be applied to Volvo’s D13 engine. Unpolluted air Power and Volvo engineers will work in partnership to develop the products and the accord makes provision for unpolluted air Power to get money from Volvo in the project.
Unpolluted air Power has over 1,600 Dual-Fuel installations operating in some awfully demanding environments around the globe. Starting early 2007 fresh air Power sold at least 84 Dual-Fuel kits to Western Australian trucking company Mitchel Company Australia Pty Ltd. Mitchell’s 64258;eet of LNG and diesel powered road trains ( multi-trailer autos running at over a hundred tonne gross vehicle weight ) transport a variety of goods on long haul journeys out and in of Perth, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie.
